Collector’s Note

Issued by the Monnaie de Paris to celebrate the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France, this monumental 1-kilogram silver coin is uniquely struck in the oval shape of a rugby ball. With an extremely limited mintage of just 299 pieces worldwide, it is a landmark achievement in sports numismatics and one of the rarest legal-tender rugby collectibles in existence.

DESIGN & CRAFTSMANSHIP

Crafted in stunning Proof quality from .950 fine silver, this substantial piece measures 85 × 52 mm. The obverse prominently displays the official logo of the 2007 Rugby World Cup and its “50 EURO” face value.
The reverse features a stylized, action-packed image of a rugby player passing the ball, anchored by the text “COUPE DU MONDE DE RUGBY – 2007 FRANCE” and the “RF” initials.

“As the first-ever rugby coin struck in one kilogram of silver, this piece seamlessly bridges the dynamic passion of the sport with the timeless prestige of fine numismatics.”
