Rugby.museum is pleased to announce the active development of a landmark temporary exhibition initiative designed to bring our world-class collection of historical rugby memorabilia to Limerick, Ireland—a city internationally renowned as the beating heart of Irish and Munster rugby heritage.
This curatorial project aims to present an unprecedented public display of rare historic medals, foundational artifacts, and unique international relics that chart the global evolution of the game, from its 19th-century origins to modern iconic moments.

Connecting History and Record-Breaking Preservation
In line with our museum’s ongoing commitment to international sports heritage, this exhibition project coincides with our official documentation and record-verification process with Guinness World Records.
By bringing together one of the world’s most complete and documented collections of specialized rugby numismatics and memorabilia, the project serves a dual purpose: setting a documented global benchmark for rugby archive preservation and sharing these treasures with the global rugby community in Munster.
Project Status & Next Steps
The exhibition is currently in its Curatorial Preparation & Venue Planning Phase. Our team is actively structuring the exhibition program, spatial layout, and cataloging requirements to align with standard international museum display protocols.
Further details regarding official venue partnerships, opening dates, and public access schedules will be announced as project milestones are finalized.
